01Our team
Run by family

Our founder Billy started WESN out of Detroit as a one man show. The first employee was his sister Falicia, who helped ship orders out of her garage.
From there, our team has grown in this same spirit. The rest of our crew is small enough to fit in a passenger van, and the person who answers your email might have helped design your knife.
02The Kickstarter
The Microblade
started it all.
Our first knife, the Microblade, launched in 2017 on Kickstarter. Billy had no grand idea to start a knife brand: just to sell a hundred knives or so he designed to friends and family.
But things quickly changed when over 3000 people showed up to order that first knife. Since then, we've released five other knives, hundreds of variants, and a slew of everyday gear. All with the mission to make simple gear that will last you for life.
03The channel
We couldn't run ads.
So we started creating.
For years, advertising pocket knives online was near impossible. So in 2023, our Creative Director Ethan became a content creator to spread the word.
For the first few months, it sucked. But six months in, WESN crossed more than 500 million organic views on YouTube alone.
To this day, our channel is about telling stories about our products, giving knives to whoever the internet wills, and making knives fun.
04The Shaq saga
We can divide our brand into pre and post Shaq.
When we ordered a Microblade ten times too big for an April Fools' joke. It arrived two weeks late, so we posted it as a factory mistake. The internet had one note: get it to Shaquille O'Neal.
Three months, eight episodes and one DM from the man himself later, we handed him the Megablade in Paris. In his hands it looked like a normal pocket knife.

Over the years, we've had the chance to make a lot of custom runs for special folks.
Recently, our friend Chris Pontius, from Jackass, was able to help us make a custom set of WESN knives for the entire cast + crew. You never know who you'll find carrying a WESN in the wild.
