The Ridgeback Story
A bit over a year ago, the WESN team took a trip to Northern Sweden. After sleeping a few days in the mountains, we had the idea for the Ridgeback Microblade.
For some years now, we've walked the line between merging outdoor and indoor lifestyles through our products. While we love a good weekend in the outdoors, the reality is that most of our days are spent in the city. Same goes for our gear.
That's when we decided to create an heirloom quality knife that embodied the rugged textures of the mountains — with intention to carry in our everyday lives.
First we prototyped a handle adhering to this dream. Titanium, with a hammered textured pattern on front, and a smooth titanium back scale. One side to reflect the peaks, one side to reflect the city.
Next, we paired a bright yellow thumbstud and lanyard to contrast the rocky color pallet with a warm hue reminiscent to a mountain sunrise. Then threw on a rock colored lanyard bead to accent the knife.
To polish things off, we upgraded the Ridgeback's blade steel to a premium M390. The extra edge to make one of the most durable and stunning Microblades yet.
